Southington Battery Theft Suspect Gets Caught on a Wall: Police

He was eventually charged.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A man trying to steal a battery was caught after getting caught on a wall, police said.

On May 30 at 12:50 p.m., Southington police responded to a residence on Eden Avenue after a call about a mam attempting to steal a car battery from the property, according to a report.

As the man was attempting to flee the scene, his vehicle became stuck on a retaining wall, police said.

George Miller, 53 of Southington, was arrested and charged with sixth-degree larceny and second-degree breach of peace, police said.

Larceny in the Sixth Degree , Breach of the Peace Second Degree, third-degree criminal trespass and third-degree criminal mischief, police said.

Miller was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Bristol Superior Court on June 13, police said.

As Miller attempted to back his vehicle out of the homeowner's driveway, the vehicle hit a wall and the
right front and rear tires became stuck, police said.

Miller then exited his vehicle and began banging on a door door and the homeowner became scared and called police, a report indicates.

The wall sustained damage, however no estimate has been provided to police, according to a report.
