Southington Care Center supports NMO Month

In a show of support, Southington Care Center employees wear green, the color associated with neuromyelitis optica - a rare condition.

On March 7, to commemorate NMO Month, Southington Care Center employees wear green, the color associated with neuromyelitis optica - a relatively unknown chronic neurological disease. Lisa Pinter, LPN, who works at Southington Care Center at 45 Meriden Ave., back center, has been a dedicated advocate in raising awareness and educating others, resulting in Gov. Dannel Malloy declaring March as Neuromyelitis Optica Awareness Month for the second consecutive year. Southington Care Center offers skilled nursing and rehabilitation services, and is a not for profit member of Hartford HealthCare Senior Services.
