Southington Christmas In The Community Traffic Rules Posted

Southington police have announced the traffic restrictions for Friday's Christmas In The Community celebration.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Southington police have announced the traffic restrictions for Friday's Christmas In The Community celebration.

This holiday event combines the longtime annual celebrations of the merchants of Downtown Southington and the Village of Plantsville Association into one family-oriented event called White Christmas in the Community. It takes place each year on the first Friday of December.

On Friday, the following streets will be posted as “No Parking” on either side of the
street:

  • Center St.
  • Liberty Pl.
  • High St.
  • Center Pl
  • Liberty St.
  • North Liberty St.
  • South Center St.
  • Main St.
  • West Main St.
  • Church St.
  • Summer St.
  • Cowles Ave.
  • Hillside Ave.
  • South Main St.
  • Grove St.

Access to Center Street, Apple Alley, West Main Street and Summer Street (south of Cowles Avenue) will be shut down at 4 p.m. on the day of the event.

The streets will be under the special parking restrictions from 4 to 10 p.m. on the day of the event.

All violators will be subject to a $35 fine and/or towing of the vehicle.

One-way traffic regulations on Center Place and Liberty Place will be suspended during the
event to allow access to residents from North Liberty Street.
