Southington Church To Host 'Fill A Truck' Event This Weekend
The Plantsville Congregational Church is filling a large truck full of non-perishable food for Southington Community Services Oct. 26-27.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A local church is hosting a special event this weekend in its quest to help the town help its less fortunate residents.
The Plantsville Congregational Church, 109 Church St., Plantsville, is hosting a "Fill the Truck" event on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 26-27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The objective is to collect non-perishable food items for Southington Community Services and the food pantry it operates.

Southington Community Services is currently looking for a diverse amount of items. They include: baking items (flour, sugar, etc.); canned fruit; shelf milk; children's snacks; canned soup; dinner sides (rick, mashed potato mix, etc.); canned goods (spaghetti sauce, pasta, ravioli, vegetables); canned juice; and cereal.
