Southington Community Garden Vandalized: Police

Police are investigating damage to the Southington Community Garden.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Vandals damaged the Southington Community Garden over the weekend, police said.

The damage was reported Saturday. The community garden is located at the rear of the Southington YMCA-Water Department property, on High Street.

Police said one target was a wooden artistic frame, that has multi-colored cans affixed to it. It was
knocked over, with some of the cans "bent" and dented, police said. Multiple cans from the frame were
scattered throughout the area, police said.

A large plant was separated from its "base pot," and lights for the wooden frame were damaged and dislodged from the ground, according to police.

The damage was estimated at $1,000, police said.
