Southington Mourning Loss Of Student Who Died After Crash
Southngton on Sunday was mourning the loss of a student who died after a car crash this weekend.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The school community in Southington on Sunday was mourning the loss of a student who died after a car crash this weekend.
"The Southington Public Schools are grieved to acknowledge a truly tragic event, the passing of
one of our students, a senior at Southington High School. Sadly, Julia Bruno could not
overcome injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Friday August 30, 2019," Superintendent of Schools Timothy Connellan said in a statement released Sunday.
A student-initiated "vigil of remembrance" took place on Sunday on the lacrosse field at Southington High School.

School support services staff, counselors, social workers and psychologists were to be available to support students and staff as they return to school on Tuesday, Connellan said.
Students, staff and other members of the community were offering to assist the family, he added.
