Southington Cops Break Up Protest at ESPN

Southington police helped break up a disturbance at ESPN.

BRISTOL, CT — Southington police helped break up a disturbance at ESPN on Monday.

The call came into Southington at 11:57 p.m. after six protesters began blocking the ESPN driveway, police said.

The protesters were advised that they were on private property and they left without incident, police said.

Authorities said the protest coincided with the sports network's suspension of on-air personality Jemele Hill, who was disciplined after a Twitter post suggesting that Dallas Cowboys advertisers could be boycotted after owner Jerry Jones threatened to bench players who kneel during the National Anthem.
