Southington Cops Issue Storm-Related Snow-On-Vehicle Tickets

Southington police issued several tickets in relation to last week's snowstorm.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Southington police issued several tickets for failure to clear snow and ice off a vehicle in relation to last week's snowstorm.

According to police records, ticketed on Dec. 3 were:

  • A 24-year-old driver from Plainville, who also was cited for an unregistered vehicle
  • A 55-year-old driver from Southington
  • A 43-year-old driver from Berlin
  • A 40-year-old driver from Southington
  • A 60-year-old driver from Southington
  • A 36-year-old driver from Southington
  • A 41-year-old driver from Southington who also was cited for an unregistered vehicle
  • A 25-year-old driver from Brooklyn, NY

  • A 70-year-old driver from Prospect

According to state law, it is $92 fine for snow or ice obstructing a driver's view, $120 with snow or ice on the roof of a vehicle. If a vehicle has both, drivers can be fined both the $92 and the $120.
