Southington Cops: Man Passes Robbery Note To Liberty Bank Teller, Then Leaves With Nothing

He is being sought by police after being captured by security cameras.

SOUTHINGTON, CT - The man did not get any money, but the police now want to get him.

That was the word from Southington police on Monday after a man walked into the Liberty Bank branch at 60 North Main St., demanded money, but then left without getting any cash, they said.

Police said they were alerted to the robbery attempt at 1:29 p.m.

The suspect is being described as a white male between 30 and 40 years old with a goatee wearing jeans, a black sweatshirt and a camouflage hat.

The suspect entered the bank and passed a note to the teller requesting cash., police said.

The suspect then left the bank before getting any cash, police said.

The suspect was operating a red, older model Ford F-150 or F-250 pickup truck. The truck and the man were captured in detail on security cameras. Police released the pictures shortly after the robbery attempt.

The truck appears to have two different styles of rims on it, police said,

A $500 reward is being offered by the Connecticut Bankers Reward Association for information leading to the apprehension of the "responsible party," police said.
