Southington Cops Stepping-Up ATV Patrols

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Southington police on Friday said they are taking to all-terrain vehicles to thwart what they are terming reckless and illegal riding in several local areas.

The target areas are "open space properties" owned by the town, the Crescent Lake area and the Southington Water Department properties.

Officers will be using the department’s ATVs.

"The goals of these patrols are to reduce trespassing on water department property and to

prevent people who are on these properties from causing damage to our natural resources," police said.
