Southington Cow Owner Cited for Moo-ving Violations
Cows escaped his property and wandered down the road, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT - Call it a moo-ving violation.
Southington police said a local man has been issued an infraction for “intentionally or recklessly releasing an animal that causes property damage.”
Police announced the ticket for Samuel Manzo, 56 of Southington, on Monday.

The incident was described as a bit slower than a stampede, but but on June 30, Southington Animal Control received a complaint from a resident on Spring Street that Manzo’s cows left Manzo’s property and caused damage to his property, police said.
The complainant reported a fence and fence posts around his garden were damaged and he also had lawn damage as a result of the cow wandering through his yard, police said.

The complainant estimated the damage at more tha $100, police said.
Animal control officers walked the fence line along Manzo’s property and found portions of the fence in a state of disrepair with large gaps in them large enough to allow a cow to walk through, police said.
Manzo was not aware that his cows left his property, police said.
