Southington Domino's Franchisee Wins Award

Daniel Carey Jr. won the company's 2014 Rookie Franchisee of the Year award.

Local Domino’s Franchise owner Daniel Carey Jr. was awarded the company’s 2014 Rookie Franchisee of the Year award for his performance at the Southington store.

“I am so thankful for this distinction,” he said. “This award would not have been possible if it were not for the incredible team of all stars that I work with on a daily basis. We have all committed to a high-energy and positive-attitude work environment and awards like this one just reinforce how powerful our dynamic culture can be.”

Carey began working for Domino’s as a delivery driver in 2010 while studying at Eastern Connecticut State University. More than 90 percent of franchisees for the company start as a driver or pizza maker.

“Serving Southington has truly been rewarding,” he said. “Whether it is being a member of the Southington Chamber of Commerce, serving Smart Slice pizza to students at lunch time, or even meeting neighbors around town, my family and I have felt unbelievably supported and welcomed into this community. This award is one I share with my team members, family, and town that have helped me so much in 2014!”
