Southington Enforcement Detail Results in Cell Tickets

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A police enforcement detail last week targeting distracted drivers netted eight tickets for cell phone violations on one particular day, police said.

Southington police set up the detail on Thursday and posted the results with the weekly blotter.

In addition to the cell phone tickets, two drivers were arrested on failure to appear warrants, police said.

One driver was cited for having an "ineffective braking system" and another for an insurance violation, police said.
