Southington FD Celebrates 3 Key Promotions In Its Ranks

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Three members of the Southington Fire Department were recently promoted to leadership positions during a badge pinning ceremony attended by family members, fellow firefighters, and town officials.

The promotions included:

• Daniel Comen: Promoted from captain to deputy chief.
• Kevin Salmeri: Promoted from lieutenant to captain.
• Michael DeFeo: Promoted from firefighter to lieutenant.

During the ceremony, which took place Monday, Oct. 26, the firefighters' wives or significant others pinned their new badges onto their uniforms as other family members watched.

The Southington Board of Fire Commissioners recognized the promoted firefighters and emphasized the important role their families play in supporting their careers.

"The families of first responders deserve every bit as much recognition for the sacrifices they make," the board said in a social media post.

The board also thanked those who attended the ceremony, including Southington Town Council members Joshua Serafino and Jennifer Clock.

The Southington Fire Department separately congratulated the three firefighters on their promotions and wished them success in their new positions.
