Southington FD Fee Changes Approved

Town council last week said 'yes' to various revisions to what is charged for inspections and how those fees are levied.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Southington Town Council has easily approved a new fee schedule for various services rendered by the town's fire department.

The unanimous vote June 27 at the John Weichsel Municipal Center came after no one spoke against the plan at a public hearing and one resident, a former fire commissioner, spoke in favor.
The measure had already been approved by the Southington Board of Fire Commissioners.

In addition to tending to accidents, medical emergencies and fires, the fire department also handles various types of inspections necessary for establishments to make sure they are abiding by various fire and safety codes.
