More Volunteers Sought for Southington FD

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Southington Fire Department is making a push for more volunteers, as it has issued a call to arms on social media Monday for more of them.

Southington's need for volunteer firefighters is similar to most departments, as busy schedules and folks working out of town have made it difficult for many to serve their community.

Among the benefits the SFD pointed out are: Serving your community; professional training; a pension plan; yearly tax abatement; fitness reimbursement; health insurance; a full physical; and life insurance coverage and additional, on-duty life insurance.
