Southington FD Says Goodbye To Veteran Firefighter

The longtime battalion chief, who retired on Sunday, Oct. 13, served the SFD for more than a quarter century.

SOUTHINGTON, CT —A veteran firefighter serving Southington has stepped down after 26 years of saving lives and property.

The Southington Fire Department Monday announced that SFD Battalion Chief Eric D'Arce retired after more than a quarter century with the department, which is a hybrid paid/volunteer unit.

"Congratulations BC D’Arcy, and we wish you a happy and healthy retirement," wrote the SFD.

The Southington firefighters union also weighed in on his retirement.

"Congratulations brother D’Arcy on your well-deserved retirement. You’ve been a great mentor and leader in our union. Best of luck to you," wrote Southington Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 2033 on its Facebook page.
