A dog and a cat were lost in the fire, according to a report.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A local firefighter lost a dog and a cat while responding to a blaze at his own home, the Record-Journal reported.

The fire broke out at about 8:45 a.m. at 11 Todd Road, according to the story.

The fire was under control in about 30 minutes, but the pets were lost, according to the story.
