Southington Firefighters Helping Those With Food Insecurity
The Southington FD is fully into its annual non-perishable food drive, which is collecting food at multiple locations in town.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Southington Fire Department's job is to help folks through some of the worst moments of their lives.
And, right now, the SFD is working hard to help folks who may be suffering through a period of food insecurity and economic distress.
Local firefighters are fully into their annual non-perishable food drive, an initiative that started last month and will continue through Dec. 20.

The SFD is overseeing four drop-off locations where folks can collect food and drop them off. They are:
• SFD Fire Headquarters, 310 N. Main St., Southington

• SFD Station 3, 35 Clark St., Southington (Monday-Friday only)
• SFD Station 5, 72 River St., Southington
• Tops Marketplace, 887 Meriden Waterbury Turnpike, Southington.
All donations will benefit the Southington Food Pantry during a time of year when food insecurity and financial stress can become acute for anyone.
Items that are especially requested include canned pasta; kids fruit snacks; canned fruit; canned tuna; pasta/sauce; kids and adult cereals; canned food and any other non-perishable food items.
