Southington Firefighters Selling Christmas Trees

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Thanksgiving is early this year and, because of that, the traditional Christmas season is early as well.

And that means trees will be going up earlier and, luckily, the Southington Fire Department's Plantsville Engine Co. 2, starting this week, will be able to hook up holiday revelers with Christmas trees.

The department's annual Christmas tree sale will take place at the fire company's headquarters at 128 W. Main St., Plantsville.

Fire department officials said there are 600 trees of all sizes ready for purchase and the price per tree is $75 each.

The sale starts Friday, Nov. 25, and, thereafter, it will be open each Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday until the trees run out.

The hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Proceeds benefit Engine Co. 2.
