Southington Food Insecurity Group Hosting Major Fundraiser

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A local organization dedicated to combating food insecurity is hosting one of its biggest fundraisers this weekend.

The annual Bread for Life Wine Tasting 2024 event will take place Sunday, Sept. 22, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Long View Ciderhouse, 36 Bottom Road, Southington.

Bread for Life, which is located at 31 Vermont Ave., Southington, is dedicated to providing "food, fellowship, and a sense of dignity to those in need," according to its website.

"Our vision is accomplished by providing meals served daily in our kitchen, delivered within our senior community and also to our home-bound citizens, and to children in the summer," reads the organization's website.

"Bread For Life strives to help our clients with their personal needs through referrals to appropriate agencies. We also are a voice to educate our community on hunger and poverty."

Tickets are limited to 70 and they should go fast, with each $55 ticket earning guests wine/spirit samples, a "grazing" table, pizza, and a commemorative wine glass.

The event is only for those aged 21 and over.
