Southington Group's Valentine's Day Gift Bag Drive To Help Community

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Valentine's Day may be Friday, Feb. 14, but the day after will be just as loving for one Italian-American civic organization in Southington.

That's when the Southington Chapter of UNICO will be conducting its Valentine’s Day Celebration fundraising event called Notte d’Amore by selling gift bags.

The gift bag will contain a $50 gift card to the New Mill, a $25 gift card to Anthony Jack’s, two bottles of wine (red and white), Italian and assorted chocolate candies, and a red rose.

The gift bags must be pre-ordered and will be available for pickup only at the Calendar House in Southington, 388 Pleasant St., on Saturday, Feb. 15, between noon and 3 p.m.

The cost is $100 per gift bag.

"We have limited gift bags (150) so please order as soon as possible since they do go quickly," wrote UNICO in an announcement.

The last day to order is Thursday, Feb. 13.

Proceeds benefit UNICO and the many charities it supports.
