Watch: Massive Motorcade For Bristol Officers Rolls Through Southington
Fire department covers for Bristol Fire Department so its members can attend funeral for slain police officers.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — On one of the saddest days in Connecticut law enforcement history, Southington responders have responded to helping out their nearby colleagues in Bristol.
The funeral for slain Bristol police officers Lt. Dustin DeMonte and Sgt. Alex Hamzy was taking place Friday at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, with a massive police presence visible to pay their respects.
While that was going on, the Southington Fire Department provided mutual aid to cover for Bristol so its fire department could attend the funeral, according to a social media post by the SFD.
