SOUTHINGTON, CT — In one simply motion, Southington officials recently approved roof/renovation projects at three Southington Fire Department firehouses.

Council members did not discuss the projects at their last meeting and, simply, approved hiring the contractor for those projects at the recommendations of town staff.

Southington Town Manager Mark J. Sciota, during his report to the council, said the roof project is part of a town-wide initiative to replace and modernize the roofs of municipal buildings as needed.

He said the approved funds also include contingency funds should the projects go in overbudget.
