He has also served as director of summer programming for K-12 since March 2022.

Hinman received his bachelor of arts in Mathematics, a master of arts in teaching, and a sixth-year diploma in educational leadership from Quinnipiac University.

Reynolds began her academic career as an elementary school teacher in Maryland and then in Connecticut.

She served as assistant principal at Seymour Middle School for several years and briefly served as interim principal in 2023.

Reynolds received her bachelor of science degree in elementary and kindergarten
education from Penn State University; her master's in educational technology from Central Connecticut State University of New Britain; and her sixth year in educational administration from the University of Connecticut.

“After a rigorous search process that included multiple rounds of interviews and performance tasks with many highly qualified candidates, Tom and Kathleen emerged as our top candidates," Madancy said.

"Out of a pool of 132 applicants, they demonstrated a consistent commitment to student-centered decisions and a strong dedication to supporting staff and families. We are incredibly fortunate and proud."

Both will serve under longtime Southington educator Richard Aroian, who was named principal in May. He has worked in the district as a teacher, coach, and administrator for 38 years.
