Southington To Launch New Parent Group Next Week
Southington's Early Childhood Collaborative will hold its first Parent Book Club, focusing on parenting and children's emotions.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — Southington parents and caregivers of young children will have a new opportunity to discuss parenting strategies and connect when the Early Childhood Collaborative of Southington launches its first Parent Book Club.
The free event is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, at the ECCS office, 35 North Main St., Suite 3A-8.
The club's first selection is "Tiny Humans, Big Emotions: How to Navigate Tantrums, Meltdowns, and Defiance to Raise Emotionally Intelligent Children," by Alyssa Blask Campbell and Lauren Elizabeth Stauble.

Organizers said the program is designed to help participants learn parenting skills while connecting with other Southington parents and caregivers.
Copies of the book can be borrowed from the Southington Public Library and the Early Childhood Collaborative.

The program is presented by the Parent Ambassadors of the Early Childhood Collaborative of Southington, a local governance partner.
Registration is required for the free event.
Organizers are also accepting suggestions from participants for books to be featured at future club gatherings.
