Southington Library To Close Parking Lot Early

People are being told to avoid trying to access the site after 8 p.m. from June 3-15 as crews work on the new library being built.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — From June 3-15, the parking lot at the Southington Public Library will close earlier in the night to facilitate work on the new library's construction nearby.

The library, located at 256 Main St., announced this week that starting Monday, June 3, through June 15, the library parking lot will close after 8 p.m. for utility work on the new building.

People are being asked to avoid accessing the library property in a vehicle or on foot after 8 p.m. and through the overnight hours during that time frame.

"Regular operating hours will not be impacted," wrote the library. "In recognition of this limited access, no fines will accrue for library materials due during the above dates."
