Southington Library Collecting Blood Next Week

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Southington Public Library is encouraging residents to donate blood during an upcoming American Red Cross blood drive scheduled for Wednesday, June 3.

The drive will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the library, located at 255 Main St.

Library officials said donors who participate will receive a $15 electronic gift card to a merchant of their choice and automatic entry into a drawing for one of two $7,500 gift cards through a Red Cross promotion.

The library also announced that Outback Steakhouse will provide chicken and steak sandwiches, along with cookies, for donors attending the event.

“There’s still time to make a donor appointment for our Wednesday, June 3 blood drive with the American Red Cross,” the library wrote in a social media post promoting the event.

Appointments can be scheduled by scanning the QR code on the event flyer, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), or visiting RedCrossBlood.org and entering “Southington” in the search box.
