Southington Library/Museum To Be Closed For Nov. 8 Festivities
While the library will reopen later that night, the museum will reopen on Thursday.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The town's library and art/history museum will be closed for a bit on Wednesday, Nov. 8, to celebrate the staff at both Southington institutions and a major library milestone.
The Southington Public Library and the Barnes Museum will close to the public from 2 to 5 p.m. on that day for a staff appreciation party, according to town officials.
Also expected at the event, according to the library, are public library donors, the Southington Town Council, the library's board of directors and the library building committee.

It will take place after a private, "topping off" ceremony where the new, $16.9 million Southington Public Library's new building will have the last steel beam installed.
The library is looking for members of the public to visit the current library, at 255 S. Main St., and sign the beam before it goes up on Nov. 8.
