Southington Library Offers Fee Amnesty For Food
Through Dec. 31, the Southington Public Library is waiving late fees if scofflaws donate food and other items for those in need.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — Those not in good graces with the Southington Public Library can earn back the love of librarians in an easy manner, one that also will help those in need in the community.
The library, along with Southington Community Services, is hosting its annual "Food for Fines" program in which late fees will be waived if scofflaws donate non-perishable food, paper goods, and toiletries to the cause.
Those items can be brought to the library's circulation desk, where they will be sent to the community services department, then distributed to those in need.
