SOUTHINGTON, CT — If you've read a lot of books and they're starting to pile in you home, no need to fret — the Friends of the Southington Public Library will take them off your hands.

The booster organization for the Southington Public Library is always looking for donations to stock the shelves of its bookstore at the library, with the organization Monday issuing notice that its stocks could use a boost.

The organization, however, asks that books with torn or missing pages should be donated, nor should any books smelling of must, mold, and smoke. No water damage.

Folks can just bring their books to the "Friends of the Southington Library Bookstore" located on the lover level of the library, which is located at 255 Main St., Southington.

In addition, people can place donations in a bin behind the reference desk of the library and there is, even, an outdoor bin for donations near the staff entrance of the library.

The books will be sold at the bookstore, with proceeds benefitting Southington Public Library programs not included in the budget, which is what the Friends group takes care of.
