Southington Library's Summer Reading Program Seeks Togetherness

The 2023 Southington Public Library Summer Reading Program has different events/reading challenges for three age groups.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Southington Public Library this summer is asking for the community to come together for a season of literature.

In fact, the library makes it clear in the 2023 Summer Reading Program's theme — "All Together Now," with "friendship, kindness and unity" being dominant concepts this year.

The program actually started up June 12 and it will continue through Friday, Aug. 11.

There are all sorts of reading challenges/programs for three different age groups: children (up to eighth-grade); teens (9th- through 12th-grades); and adults 18 and up.

With the program, folks are rewarded for the books they read during the time period.

And, according to the library, there's a lot to be had by participating and, perhaps, winning some of the challenges.

"Southington residents can win lots of great prizes, like a Nintendo Switch Lite or tickets to Six Flags New England, by tracking your reading and attending library events," wrote the library, which is located at 255 Main St.
