Southington Lights on Lovley Cancelled

Some residents are upset with the traffic while others aren't. The homeowners decided to shut down the show.

Update: A message posted on the LightsOnLovley Facebook page said the show is being canceled for the rest of this holiday season.

The show is difficult to put on and the homeowners worked with police to keep traffic flowing.

At this point we do not know what this means for 2015. While we suspect that the Frozen song and resulting media coverage was a one time thing, its hard to predict what would happen next year. We would happily work with the town or other organizations on potential ideas for a better location, but the logistics of setting this up is not trivial.

A popular light display on Lovley Lane in Southington is causing some traffic woes in the area.

Police are forcing drivers to Cobblestone Court and having them wait in line to see the display, according to WFSB.

Some people complained about the traffic issues, but neighbors generally said they weren’t upset with the additional traffic.

The homeowner said he scaled back the display to help reduce traffic. He asks for a voluntary donation of food to help Southington Community Services.
