Southington Set To Tweak Fire Department Fees
Town council to host public hearing Monday, then possible discuss and vote on new set of fire department inspection fees.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Southington Town Council June 27 will listen to testimony about the latest fee schedule from the Southington Fire Department.
After the 7 p.m. public hearing, which is Monday, June 27, at the John Weichsel Municipal Center, the full council could discuss and vote on the measure, which has already been approved by the Southington Board of Fire Commissioners.
In addition to tending to accidents, medical emergencies and fires, the fire department also handles various types of inspections necessary for establishments to make sure they are abiding by various fire and safety codes.

This latest revision, according to Southington Fire Department Chief James A. Paul Jr., aims for a streamline fee schedule.
Various inspection fees are being changed, others waived due to being lumped in with other categories and others are simply being simplified.
