Southington Maintains No. 2 Spot in Softball Poll
The Blue Knights received four first-place votes despite not having played a game this season.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A series of weather-related postponements kept the Southington High School softball team from any actual game competition through the first full week of April, but that didn't stop voters in the weekly poll of coaches and media members from tabbing them among the top squads in the state.
Four ballots listed the Blue Knights first, enabling them to place second in the voting behind Seymour. Southington was slated to host Bristol Eastern in the long-awaited opener Monday afternoon.
Here are the top 15, plus all other schools which received votes in the balloting, with records through April 8:
