Southington Man, 76, Charged with Sexually Assaulting Minor

A 76-year-old man was arrested by Southington Police after he allegedly sexually assaulted a minor.

Walter Ronewicz of Southington was arrested Dec. 9 at his residence, said Sgt. Jeffrey Dobratz, police spokesman.

An incident was reported to the Department of Children and Families in June 2014.

Ronewicz is charged with one count of first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. He was held in lieu of a $500,000 bond.

The arrest warrant in the case is sealed.
