Man Arrested for 'Aggressive' Mopping
John Thornton, of Southington, CT, allegedly grabbed a mop from a hotel employee and began mopping like mad.

Apparently, John Thornton, 30, of Southington really likes a clean floor.
Thornton was arrested in Bristol after he aggressively began mopping the floor, according to police.
Bristol police were called to the Double Tree Hotel around 6:30 p.m. Monday night. They found that John Thornton, 30, grabbed a mop from a female employee and began mopping the floor.

“(Thornton) then began to mop the floor but became more aggressive and mopped over the employee’s shoes several times,” according to Lt. Donn Watson, police spokesman.

He then allegedly pushed the woman into a corner when she asked him to stop, according to Watson.
Police arrested Thornton and charged him with breach of peace. He allegedly went on to make threats against police and was charged with threatening in the second degree.
