Southington Man Charged After 2 Assault Incidents: Police

A Southington man has been charged in two incidents in two months, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A Southington man has been charged in two incidents in two months, police said. The latter involved a confrontation with police, according to a report.

Jeffery Bowman, 21, of Southington, was arrested Aug. 10 and charged with assault of a public safety officer and possession of less than a half-ounce of cannabis. A $50,000 bond was assigned to the case.

According to a report, Bowman's arrest was the result of a drunken disturbance at his residence. When officers arrived at the scene, Bowman fled the area on foot, and, when located a short time later in the area, he became aggressive toward officers, a report indicates.

During a search of Bowman, police located a small plastic bag of marijuana, according to a report.

Bowman also had an outstanding warrant for a July 25 assault case. He was charged with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault with a separate $10,000 bond, policed said.
