Southington Man Charged with Public Indecency

Southington police say the 18-year-old exposed and fondled himself in view of about 30 pre-teen girls.

A Southington man was arrested Monday for allegedly exposing himself in front of pre-teen girls practicing lacrosse.

Timothy Delaney, 18, was charged with public indecency, second-degree breach of peace and risk of injury to a minor.

Southington police said that Delaney walked out from behind a privacy wall near the restroom at Panthorn Park on Burritt Street several times and allegedly pulled down his shorts and exposed and fondled his genitals.

There were about 30 girls, ranging in age from 9 to 12, practicing lacrosse about 40 feet from the restrooms, police said. There were also numerous family members and other people in the park in close proximity to where the incident occurred.

Delaney was held on $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court Aug. 11.
