Man Charged for Roughing Up Special Needs Kid in Southington

The man was also charged in a separate warrant.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A man has been arrested for allegedly roughing up a special needs kid in Southington.

Police said they took Scott Squires, 40, of Bristol, into custody on Saturday via an outstanding warrant. The warrant stemmed from a domestic dispute, during which Squire allegedly knocked a special needs juvenile to the floor of the residence, police said.

Squire was charged with third-degree assault, on a disabled person, and risk of injury to a minor, police said.

The juvenile suffered minor injuries, police said.

Squire posted a $10,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Bristol Court for the second time on Oct. 24, court records indicate.

In a separate warrant, Squire is accused of kicking someone and trying to physically force the person out of a home, police said. The victim suffered minor injuries and Squire was charged with second-degree breach of peace, and third-degree assault, police said.

He posted a $10,000.00 bond in the case as well, according to court records.
