Southington Man Facing Gun Charge

He allegedly had the weapon in a car with children, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT - Police said a local man has been slapped with a weapons charge for allegedly carrying a handgun in a car with two children, the Record-Journal has reported.

Brian Rainey, 20, of 139 Farmstead Road, was taken into custody Sunday and charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, two counts of risk of injury, second-degree breach of peace and possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle.

He is scheduled to appear in Bristol Superior Court on May 3, according to the report.
