Southington Mom, Daughter Ready to Run Apple Harvest Festival Road Races

The Apple Harvest Festival Road Races are slated for Oct. 1 in Southington.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The first two runners to Register for the annual Apple harvest Road Race were a Mother and daughter pair — Blair and Zoey Vaccaro.

They signed up in July to run the Apple Harvest 5 Mile and Little Fritter runs, respectively.

Blair is a lifetime resident of Southington, and longtime runner. This is her second time running the Apple Harvest 5 Mile.

For 4-year-old Zoey, 2017 is her second Little Fritter Fun Run.

"Zoey and I have been practicing. The races are fun for the whole family and are a great chance to get out and get active" Blair Vaccaro said.

Apple Harvest Festival Road Races are scheduled for Oct. 1 beginning at the top of Columbus Bloulevard at 8:30 a.m.

Registration is currently open.

Races include the 5 Mile, 5K, 2 Mile, Y Cup Relay, and Little Fritter Fun Run.
