Southington Moves Up in State Wrestling Poll

The Blue Knights are solidly entrenched among Connecticut's top 5 programs.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — In the midst of a 10-day break, the Southington High School wrestling team inched up a spot in the weekly statewide poll of coaches and media members.

The Blue Knights (6-2) placed fourth in the most recent balloting, but are idle until hosting Newington on Jan. 23.

Danbury (7-0) collected 16 of 17 first-place votes to maintain the top position.

Here are the top 10, plus all other programs receiving votes, with records through Jan. 15:

  3. Fairfield Warde (5-1)
  4. Southington (6-2)

  10. Windham (8-1)
