Southington Museum's Inaugural 2023 Movie Night A Comedy Classic
The Barnes Museum is hosting an outdoor, night showing of the 1959 hit 'Some Like It Hot.'
SOUTHINGTON, CT — In 1959, Republican President Dwight D. Eisenhower was busy with the Cold War and the post-World War II economy.
So he didn't really have much time to fret about the comedy classic "Some Like It Hot," featuring Hollwood icons Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis in drag along with Marilyn Monroe.
Decades later, Southington's Barnes Museum, the town's history museum, is showing the classic flick for its first "Movie Night on the Lawn" event of the season Saturday, June 17, albeit in more polarized times when it comes to men in drag.
