Southington Nursing/Rehab Facility Honors Military Vets
The Summit at Plantsville, honored its veterans at the skilled nursing and rehab center with a Wall of Honor ceremony Wednesday.

SOUTHINGTON, CT – Memorial Day weekend is still more than a week away, but one Southington nursing and rehabilitation center spent time honoring the heroes at the facility.
Wednesday, The Summit at Plantsville, honored its veterans at the skilled nursing and rehab center with a Wall of Honor ceremony, which is part of The Summit’s week-long celebration honoring Skilled Nursing Home Week.

Southington Town Council Chairwoman Victoria Triano was expected to deliver an invocation for the ceremony, which took place at the 261 Summitt St. facility.
Keynote speakers were to include former recreation employee at The Summit at Plantsville, Marine Corps Veteran Melanie Gale and Connecticut State Police Lt. Colonel Mark Davison.

In addition, a bagpipe tribute was performed to honor the serviceman and women, among other speeches.
The 2023 Wall of Honor Ceremony will honor 34 residents and three employees at The Summit of Plantsville.
Their names were added to the Veteran Wall of Honor on display at the center.
“The Summit at Plantsville is proud to work with the VA on providing services to our serviceman and women who need it the most. The Wall of Honor serves as a way to recognize our past and present veterans and honor their legacy. We are proud to employ staff who served our country, and we thank them for their service,” said Larry Santilli, president and chief executive officer of Athena Health Care Systems, which manages The Summitt at Plantsville.
