Southington Obituary: Eileen Englert, 44

Condolences to her family and friends.

Eileen A. McKenney Englert, 44, of Southington, passed away Nov. 28, 2016 surrounded by her family at Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain.

She was born in New Britain on Nov. 5, 1972, the daughter of George J. and Sandra (Allen) McKenney. She was a 1990 graduate of Southington High School, and received her MBA in Business Administration and BS in Industrial Technology from Central CT State University.

She was employed by Navigant Consulting as an Associate Director in their Construction Practice; traveling extensively serving as an Owner's Representative on major construction and renovation projects for Lab Corp. In addition, during her career she successfully led the renovation of The Palace Theater, Waterbury.

Eileen was active in the Project Management Institute and Women in Construction Assoc.; and served as an Adjunct Professor at NYC's Real Estate/Construction She was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church.

Besides her parents of Southington, she leaves her brother Staff Sgt. Michael D. McKenney stationed with the MA National Guard, her beloved "Family of the Heart" and The Clan McKenney as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Eileen's family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the angels among us; her medical team, her church family, her colleagues and her friends. Smiling, she would wish you all Godspeed.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 1pm at the Zion Lutheran Church, 531 Woodruff St. There are no calling hours.

DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. is assisting with arrangements.

Eileen's Memorial Garden will be dedicated in the Spring of 2017 at the home of her parents in Southington.
