
Janet H. (Keene) Burtasket, 72, of New Britain, passed away on Monday, Dec. 5, 2016 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. She was the widow of John Burtasket Jr. who died March 30, 2015.
Born in Livermore, ME, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Bertha (Dill) Keene. Janet was a former resident of Southington and Wallingford before moving to New Britain. She was formerly employed at Northeast Utilities for 36 years, before retiring. Janet was a former member of the Congregational Church of Southington and served as a Women’s Forum volunteer with Northeast Utilities. Janet loved her pets, especially her Springer Spaniels.
Surviving are two sisters, Nancy Kowalski of Bristol and Marion Plagemann of New Britain; a brother, Robert W. Keene and his wife Donna of Southington; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, John Richard Keene.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 AM at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 295 Arch St., New Britain. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday morning at church from 10 AM until the time of the service.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd, Southington, CT 06489-1058 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
