
Joseph DiMassa, 89, of Southington passed away on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016 at the Summit of Plantsville. He was the beloved husband of Viola (LaPorte) DiMassa.
He was born on Nov. 16, 1927 in West Haven, the son of the late Dante and Rosalie (Celentano) DiMassa. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII. Prior to his retirement he was a Postal Clerk in New Haven. He was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Debra DeAngelo of Milford, Francis and wife Donna Pali, Doreen Antonelli and Robert and wife Debra Bruzik all of Southington. He also leaves a brother Nicholas DiMassa of as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a step daughter Josephine Burdick and 2 brothers Dante and Anthony DiMassa.

His funeral will be held on Friday Dec. 16, 2016 at 9:45 am from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Thomas Church at 10:30 am for a Mass. Burial will be with military honors at St. Thomas Cemetery Calling hours will be on Thursday from 3-5 pm.
