Southington Obituary: Patricia Teta, 77

Patricia (Unwin) Teta, 77, beloved wife of Philip Teta Jr., passed away peacefully on August 8, 2017 at Suncoast Hospice in Palm Harbor, FL.

Born in Waterbury on February 20, 1940, Patricia was the daughter of the late Irving Unwin and Eleanor (Kiernan) Unwin. She is a graduate of Crosby High School and received three degrees from Central Connecticut State University: a Bachelor of Science, Masters of Science, and Sixth-Year Certificate in Reading and Language Arts.

Patricia enjoyed working as a reading consultant in the Wolcott Elementary school system. She lived in Southington until her retirement and then moved to Palm Harbor approximately fifteen years ago. Patricia was an avid golfer, a passionate reader, and a lover of the outdoors.

In addition to her husband of 55 years, she is survived by her son Robert (Ellen) Teta of Louisville, KY, and her granddaughters Allison, Amy, and Kelly Teta. She is also survived by sister Marilyn (Robert) Kelley; brother William (Jennifer) Unwin; nieces Elizabeth Gade, Kandra Barsotti, Jessica Farrelly, Ann Dilworth, and Romiah Rodriguez; and nephews William Unwin Jr., Joseph Yamin, and Michael Yamin. She was predeceased by son Philip Teta III.

Patricia’s life will be honored on Saturday, August 26, 2017. Calling hour is 8:30 -9:30 a.m. at DellaVecchia Funeral Home located at 211 N. Main Street in Southington. There will be a funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Church. Immediately following the Mass, Patricia will be laid to rest with her beloved son Philip in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown.
