Southington Officer Suspended Over Friend's Crash

A report outlines the sanctions.

SOUTHINGTON — An internal affairs report shows that a Southington police officer was suspended without pay for allowing his girlfriend to drive impaired on the night of a deadly crash.

The Record-Journal examined the report and filed a story Thursday.

According to police and court records Krista Pikora, 26, of 2118 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike, was charged with second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle, second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, driving under the influence among other crimes for the April 30, 2016 crash.

She has a sentencing hearing slated for May 10 after entering guilty plea to the manslaughter and assault charges, according to law enforcement and court records.
